Transposase Activation by AAA+ Protein

  • This piece was created in collaboration with biophysics researchers to communicate their new research on transposase activation to interested peers.

Process

1. Thumbnails

After reading the clients’ research paper and viewing the PDB files in PyMol, I presented the clients with composition thumbnails.

2. Rough Sketch

Models from PyMol were used to create a rough layout.

3. Color

Using ePMV, I imported the PDB models into Cinema4D and created DNA strands. Basic materials were applied to decide color and the background was drawn in Photoshop.

4. Final Render and Paint

C4D materials were refined and models were rendered with AOV and specular lighting passes. Additional painting was done in Photoshop.
